This is a personal hardware project involving RFID cards, Bluetooth administration, a keypad, water-flow measurement, and solenoid valve control.
It’s also a way for me to learn what changes when software has to interact with a physical system. The wiring, power supply, sensor readings, and mechanical parts all matter alongside the code.
What I’m exploring
The intended system connects access control with water dispensing. A useful prototype needs to recognize input, control the valve, measure flow, and provide a way to administer the device.
Questions to work through
- How to power the controller and valve reliably.
- How to calibrate flow readings against a measured volume.
- How to handle missing or unexpected sensor input.
- How to test each component before connecting the whole system.
Next for this write-up
I want to add a photo of the actual build, a wiring diagram, and a short build log showing what worked, what failed, and what I changed.
